One of the reasons for this concert is the 50th anniversary of Zsuzsa Koncz’s fifth LP, Jelbeszéd (Sign Language), which was released in 1973. This album holds a special place among her otherwise very successful works due to its exceptional songs and its “troubled fate” (it was banned shortly after its release).
For the 50th jubilee, a remastered edition of the album, supplemented with bonus tracks, was recently re-released.
The other reason, therefore, is that the bonus tracks include the new János Bródy composition that gives the concert its title, Jelbeszéd 2.0, which is intended to connect the former legendary album—and thus our past—with our present.
As always, the concert program will be characterized by a dual perspective. It will feature songs from her recent highly successful albums, Tündérország (Fairy Land), Vadvilág (Wilderness), and Szabadnak születtél (Born to be Free), as well as Koncz classics such as “Valahol egy lány” (A Girl Somewhere), “Kárpáthyék lánya” (The Kárpáthys’ Daughter), and “Ég és föld között” (Between Heaven and Earth). There will also be poems, and, naturally, we will hear songs from the original Jelbeszéd album.
