Weavings exhibition

The Weavings exhibition presents a selection of weavings from the ethnographic collection of the Balaton Museum.

Tablecloths, blankets, towels, dressing gowns – all of these can be easily bought in shops today, but once it took months of work to make a single household textile or item of clothing. From autumn to spring, women and master weavers would sit at their looms, making everything a household needed from linen, hemp and cotton yarns.
