At John’s Pub you will find everything all year round: their premises are heated and air-conditioned, they provide wifi access throughout the restaurant, and of course, the entrance is wheelchair accessible.
The menu offers traditional Hungarian cuisine, exquisite street food and classic BBQ dishes, but those who just want to snack won’t be disappointed either.
Culinary Experience and Technique
The smoker, the aromas emanating from it, the tender meats (pulled pork, pork side, wild boar shoulder, beef neck…) and the side dishes (coleslaw salad, fresh salad mix, corn, onion chutney with lila onions…) clearly provide an unmistakable BBQ experience!
The meat is cooked in a BBQ PIT BOX smoker cabinet, the essence of which is slow cooking on smoke. The low&slow cooking time is a minimum of 10-12 hours, so the meats are available in limited time and quantity.
The BBQ offer is not permanent, check the John’s Pub current offer for the dates of the cooks and the available dishes here!
Event Venue
The restaurant has a floor area of 350 m2 and can accommodate up to 160-200 people, depending on the purpose. For conference-style, seated presentations, 80 people can be seated in rows. For a traditional, dining arrangement, 60-70 people can be seated on the lower level, while an additional 25-30 people can be seated at the table on the mezzanine. Their terrace, open from May 20 to September 20, can accommodate up to 80-100 people.
After Sightseeing
The Keszthelyi Fő tér [Main Square], Helikon Park and Várkert [Castle Garden] are all within 200 meters. So if we get hungry after a good sightseeing tour, we only need to take a few steps and we will be at John’s Pub.
Parking
There are a few parking spots in front of the restaurant, or along Kossuth Lajos Street. If we can’t find a parking spot on the street, it’s worth choosing the bigger parking lot located in Sörház Street, which is only a 200-meter walk.
Approach
If approaching Keszthely from the south, the second exit of the roundabout leads to Kossuth Lajos street, where the restaurant is located.
For those coming from the north side of Balaton, it is suggested to go to the traffic lights on Tapolcai street, then turn left onto Lovassy Sándor street, followed by Ady street and Kazinczy street to the railway station. From here, Mártírok street leads to Kossuth Lajos street.
