The Pampetrics Wine Shop and Wine Bar is a true community space in Keszthely’s Promenade Street, where a cozy terrace and petanque court await those who wish to go wine-tasting. It’s always nice to drop by here for a chat, surrounded by the carefully maintained flowers, the vineyard climbing up the Pethő House, and the aforementioned petanque court in the courtyard, providing a pleasant atmosphere for socializing. The wine bar is managed with heart and soul by Milán Pampetrics, who is not only a wonderful host, but also a local patriot and community organizer.
They have all Hungarian wine regions from Szekszárd to Tokaj, but since we are near Balaton, their selection of Badacsony, Csopak and Balatonfüred wines is naturally emphasized.
Their main goal is to get the wines produced by winemakers to consumers as quickly and with excellent quality as possible. Of course, they prefer Hungarian wines, but foreign wines can also be found on their shelves. Their selection includes both small artisan wineries and larger modern wineries. By maintaining good friendship and working relationships with winemakers, they personally obtain a significant part of their wines from wineries. Currently, more than 1200 types of wines can be found in their range, which they are constantly expanding, so their customers can always meet new wines.
Wine Brings Together – Downtown Wine Festival
Milán Pampetrics is the main organizer of the “Wine Brings Together ” wine festival in Keszthely, which is organized in conjunction with the KeszthelyFest for a few years. At this time, the city moves for three days, but many come from all over the Balaton region, and even from the farthest points of the country, to taste the wines of more than 20 relocated wineries, get to know and talk to the winemakers, and enjoy the concerts held in the downtown area.
Petanque
In summer 2020, the first Keszthely Petanque court opened its doors in the inner courtyard of the Pethő-house. The idea of a local implementation of the French ball game was born in the mind of Milán Pampetrics, and the initiative was welcomed by the city leadership. Since then, both locals and tourists have been spending their time playing the game in a beautiful environment, next to the Keszthely synagogue.
Wine tasting and events
The Vinoteka is open every day (except Sundays).
Milan also organizes thematic tastings, according to wines of wine regions and grape varieties. Usually, regular customers fill the places, information is spread by word of mouth, but those who are eye-catching can also get information from the posters placed in front of the store.
Parking
The closest parking to the bar is located at Zeppelin Square, from here it is a few minutes walk.
Approach
The store is located in the middle of the Walking Street, so we may accidentally run into it during our city walks.
