The city dresses up in festive attire – winter attractions

In December, during the Advent season, the city dresses up in festive attire, with a Christmas market, the city’s Christmas tree, a nativity scene, a children’s ice rink, concerts, winter delicacies and colorful programs. On December 6th, to the delight of the children, Santa Claus arrives at the Main Square, and on each Advent weekend we can tune into the festivities at the Main Square.

On New Year’s Eve, we will welcome the New Year together at the Main Square.

Festetics Castle Holiday Programs

Following Christmas, the Festetics Castle offers holiday programs, with a playhouse between the two holidays, light and classical music concerts, and a mini-train in the Christmas-decorated castle’s illuminated park.

Recharge with culture!

The January-February period offers the opportunity to recharge with culture in our museums, at events organized by the theater and the library. The Balaton Theater season ticket offers the opportunity for theater lovers to watch plays by renowned theater companies from autumn to spring. In addition, many nationally renowned performers, musicians, and bands are invited to our city.

If the weather turns wintery, we can admire the snow-white city, the snow-covered buildings, with the snowy Keszthely Mountains in the background. If the Balaton freezes, we can go ice-skating on it, but even if it doesn’t, we don’t have to miss the joy of ice-skating, as we can do it on the 20-meter diameter, more than 300 m2 ice rink located 150 meters from the Balaton shore at the Energia place.
A 200 m2 ice rink awaits the children in the heart of Keszthely, at the Fő tér, where they can ice-skate in the midst of the Advent hustle and bustle.
