Vidor Game Museum

The Keszthely Vidor Game Museum's approximately fifteen thousand piece game collection allows us to take a time travel into the stages of the development of the games. In the museum we can find the Matulárium, as well as the memorial rooms of István Fekete and the hunter and writer Dénes Wentzely.

Collections:

At the Toy Museum, the private collector of Túri Török Tibor presents the results of his collecting work to the visitors. Outstanding collections include Moncsicsi, strollers, porcelain dolls, Barbie dolls, toy cars, and Kinder surprises. We can view them and at the same time listen to children’s songs while we are nostalgically reminiscing. If we say toy history, the metal cars of Elzett Művek, the chirping chicks, the rolling clowns, the first Ikarus bus toy, the plush toys of the German Steiff family company, the children’s toys of the Győr Sheet Metal Factory, plastic soldiers, and construction and board games come alive.

“I have never been to such a cute and nicely arranged museum. You really can feel like a child again while walking among so many toys. 🙂 I recommend it to everyone who is in Keszthely, don’t miss it. ”

Lifestyle Exhibition:

The Lifestyle Exhibition is part of the nostalgic, featuring an old classroom and a children’s room. Mazsola and Süsü cannot be missed, which can be found in the “TV Room”.

István Fekete Memorial Room

The Game Museum pays tribute to István Fekete, author of numerous youth books, novels, and animal stories. His works have been translated into more than ten languages, and we can honor him as the second most read Hungarian writer of all time. One of his best known works, Tüskevár, takes place in the nearby Kis-Balaton wetlands. In the memorial room of the writer we can find the Memorial Room of Wentzely Dénes, forester and hunter writer as well.
